Mahindra & Mahindra, the domestic auto-producer launched the long awaited 2015 Mahindra Thar facelift in the country on July 22, 2015. The new version Thar was captured in Indian roads during company’s test rides. The vehicle will undergo a vital upgradation since its inception in 2010.
This 2015 Mahindra Thar is getting some exiting interior and exterior changes. The vehicle is featuring a new plastic-metal front bumper, revised fender and a large foot rests. This off-roader gets a new tilt canopy in the back. Going on the interiors, this vehicle gets a new dual paint colour scheme. The air vents now touched up with a silver finish, while the instrument cluster is as same as XUV 500. The cluster contains a three piece unit with chrome surround, while the centre console gets a beize cover featuring the hand brake, gear lever and transfer case. The present seats are now larger in size to offer comfortable journey. Few features like steering wheel and air-conditioning controls are directly lifted from Bolero.
In addition to that the 2015 Thar will feature the same 2.5-litre DI unit and 2.5-litre CRDe motor. The former vehicle is considered good for 63bhp of power and 182.5Nm of torque, modern provides a 2.5-litre CRDe unit with a whooping 105bhp and 247Nm torque. The engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, and will be offered in both 2WD and 4WD drivetrains.
