BMW is expected to surprise its customers by adding a new model to the i Line-Up.
These rumours got a backbone when German carmaker’s CEO Harald Krueger suggested that there may indeed be some truth to those reports. Speaking to Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung, a German newspaper, Krueger said, “There is space if you look at it from the number point of view”. Addition to the BMW i line-up could sit between the i3 electric car and the i8 plug-in sportscar in the form of the i5. Unlike i3 and i8, i5 is expected to be based on the 5 series.
It is also expected to be more powerful than i8 with the total output of 540 to 600bhp. It will apparently also get a minimum of 2 electric motors.
