BHUBANESWAR: Kalinga Motors Sports Club is all buckled up for the 1st BBIN friendship motor rally 2015. With the support of Ministry of Road Transport, Govt. of India, this friendship rally is scheduled to kick start on 14th of November 2015 from Bhubaneswar and would finally halt at Victoria Memorial, Kolkata on 1st of December 2015.
Sri. Praveen Chandra Bhanjdeo, MLA and Former Minister of Sports and Youth Services, Govt. of India would lead the troop of 22 vehicles comprising of 80 motor sporting enthusiasts which would include Retired Army general, Senior bureaucrats, Politician, Motor Rally Veterans and the Young blood.
Covering over 4500 kms in 19 days in the 4 countries of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, this rally would be a deep towards the regional integration among these countries. This rally of regional integration will travel on the long closed corridors opening it for public transport and honouring the quadrilateral agreement between these 4 countries. Promoting safe, economic and environmental sound road transport in the sub-region, this rally would create institutional mechanism for regional integration as per BBIN- Motor Vehicle agreement 2015.
BBIN Friendship Motor Rally 2015, covering the places of historical and political importance will also propagate its importance while advocating for road safety via seminars which would be held at Gangtok, Thimpu, Dhaka and Kolkata. The wide spread coverage of media will ensure tremendous impetus for tourism among the 4 countries.
After the Grand success of 1st INDO-NEPAL Friendship Rally which covered the places like Jagannath Puri, Pashupati Nath Kathmandu, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, this rally is expected to be a milestone in the history of regional integration.
