Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) in partnership with leading motorcycle racing team Ten10 Racing has brought its coveted Honda Ten 10 Racing Academy to East India for the first time in at Bhubaneswar, Odisha supported by Kalinga Motorsports Club.
The Honda Ten 10 Racing Academy aims to introduce racing to young interested aspirants from the eastern part of India who are interested in taking up motorcycle racing as a career option or even as a hobbyand to open the window of opportunity to the international racing platform. Before this, Honda Ten 10 Racing Academy has successfully completed 6 racing camps and trained over 150 aspirants across Chennai, Coimbatore & Bangalore.
Present at the inauguration of the Honda Ten10 Racing Academy camp were Kalinga Motorsports Club owner Ramesh Mahapatra with special guests – Shri Pushpendra Singh Deo, Minister – Housing & Urban Development, Odisha Govt. and Shri Sudam Marndi, Minister of State (Independent Charge),Sports & Youth Services, Minister of State,S.T. & S.C. Development (Tribal Welfare).
The inaugural Honda Ten10 Racing Academy camp in East India saw 22 biking enthusiasts converging from various parts of India including Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hubli, Rewari, Mananthavady, Bokaro Steel City, Mumbai, Latur, Indore, Warangal, Vellore, Tiruchirappalli, Mizoram, Bilaspur and Bhopal. The rising interest in racing and increasing popularity of this sport received interest across age group for the camp which includes younger participant of 17 year and oldest being 30 years old. At the academy, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd provides the motorcycle and technical support for the academy with the Honda CBR 150R first time riders and Honda CBR 250R experienced riders.
With the legacy of Honda Racing in the world championship HMSI provides the best of the production class racing equipment for training and racing in India. The camp has been designed to share basics of racing with aspiring racers and focus on rules & regulations, safety, discipline, sportsmanship, fitness and mental strength that is a must know for a racer. During the camp, the aspirants underwent theory classes and riding sessions inside the stadiums peripherals roads which are apt for quick manoeuvre skills and required for racing.
The camp also taught basic methods of riding a bike fast around the racing circuit along with braking methods, leaning the bike into the corner, throttle control and many such basic exercise that is important to be followed in the race. The camp acquainted aspiring racers with the required rules & skills and are confident on the racing circuit from day onewhile participating in the Honda One Make Championships or National Championships. Honda Ten10 Racing issues Level 1 certificate which certifies the rider/racer is racing circuit ready. The certificate is mandatory to enter the 2 wheeler road racing championships organized by Madras Motorsports Club.
