The carmaker sold more cars than Hyundai and Tata combined, which were second and third respectively. Mahindra was pushed to the fourth position, while other brands followed suit.
KEY INSIGHTS
Maruti continued to lead the Indian market in November 2024, with over 1.41 lakh dispatches, although an impressive number, it is an 11.5 percent decline from the previous month’s sales. The Indian carmaker saw a growth of over 5 percent compared to sales from November 2023.
Hyundai was ranked as the second best-selling carmaker, with over 48,200 units dispatched in November, in a decline of slightly more than 13 percent compared to the sales of the previous month. Hyundai also witnessed close to 2.5 percent decline in sales from November 2023.
With over 47,000 units dispatched, TATA monthly sales registering a 2 percent decline on MoM sales. Despite the uptick in demand, the Indian brand faced a marginal YoY growth.
Mahindra, with more than 54,500 units sold, was the third carmaker to surpass 46,000 dispatches in November. The company recorded a positive growth of 15.6 percent in YoY sales and 15 percent decline in both MoM sales.
Toyota’s sales decreased by 10 percent month-on-month, with over 25,100 units dispatched in November 2024. The brand also saw a 48 percent year-on-year growth.
The Korean automaker, KIA, recorded sales of over 20,000 units in November 2024. The brand saw more than 9 percent MoM and YoY decline of last month sales figure.
MG saw a substantial 14 percent decline in MoM growth, reaching a little over 6,000 units in November. Its YoY figures too went up by a big margin of 45 percent.
Honda managed to dispatch over 5,000 units of its cars in November 2024, as a result of which its MoM figure dropped by almost 10 percent. On yearly numbers, it reported close to 43 percent decline in volume, the biggest drop for any carmaker’s YoY figure on this list.
VOLKSWAGEN attracted nearly 3,000 buyers in November 2024, registering a 32 percent decline in monthly basis and 2 percent decline in yearly sales.
Skoda also posted strong MoM decline in November. Dispatched over 2,800 vehicles and Skoda recorded close to 29 percent MoM and 23 percent YOY decline.
